Epidural for bad back ?

Recommended Posts

I've never had one, but one of my teachers had one when I was in secondary school for a bad back. I'm not 100%, but I *think* she was driving pretty soon afterwards, possibly not home from the procedure but did drive the next day driving back to work.

We give them to our patients. As it's a procedure using local anaesthetic you aren't insured to drive for 24 hours after the procedure but as long as you feel well and have full sensation in both legs you can drive after that. Although epidurals do help with pain relief longer term he still needs to protect his back and not do anything silly just because his pain will be reduced. Hope it works well for him.
