Chicken boarders

...so about time for some more pictures!

 

My five chicks are 8 weeks old now, and one of the boys even tried to crow this morning, so I thought it was about time to get a second opinion on their sexes. I know I definitely have two boys, and hopefully three girls (two for a friend and one to stay with me), but I just wanted to check as they're cross breeds and don't have a single comb (I was thinking a pea comb but I'm not sure).

 

Number One Girl, the one who will be staying with us.

 

 

 

Number Two I think she is a girl and will be going to live with my friend

 

 

She has a few small feathers between her toes which she has had since she hatched which I'm a little confused about as none of the others have them.

 

 

 

Number Three My third girl, best friends with number two.

 

 

 

Number Four Definite boy, he fights with five; has had a large red comb and wattles since four weeks old and is now getting some lovely dark green, shiny tail feathers.

 

 

 

Number Five Another boy, definitely in charge and has looked very boyish sine three weeks old. Today he has been practising his crowing.

i wish it was that easy to tell the difference between mine, mine are silkie x sultan and silkie x pekin, so they dont have single combs and they are not red either, what a bumma.

 

But you have some pretty birds there what are your breeds crossed with

They are all indian game crossed with Redwing's Albion , who is also a cross breed, so they are very mixed. I think they're pretty though

I know! We went on holiday for a week in the middle of August and we couldn't believe how much they'd grown while we were away. I love watching them change. Thank you so much for the eggs Tasha xx
