This afternoon we took my YD's hen Nellie to the vets and she was PTS as diagnosed with peritonitis. She had lost her place as head hen and was thin so we felt it best to let her go before she suffered any more. I did warn her before we went of the probable outcome but I think I was the worse one for being emotional! I have let her choose another hen for her designated one out of our recent four arrivals.
