Lesley
hmmmmm.......... I don't have a paper on Mondays, so it was an interesting read. .......but I note that this is added at the end......... "The Food Standards Agency says the risk of campylobacter is completely removed if people wash their hands when handling chicken and cook it thoroughly. Snowy
Very interesting. It also pointed out that "Superbug versions of campylobacter have emerged in response to the feeding of antibiotics to chickens to kill illness in the flocks."
CrookhamChooks
Quote from the article 'And it suggested that the size of the survey sample, at 46, was not reliable to give a true picture. ' Hear hear to that, I'd say. And what a typical alarmist Daily Mail story anyway. Surely *everyone* knows by now that uncooked poultry is potentially infected with salmonella/campylobacter and who knows what else? As long as you cook it properly, no problem. rachel19
I think the point of it was to point out that just because the chicken is organic it doesn't mean that you can treat it any differently i.e be less cautious in cooking, handling etc.........although tbh if you thought that.....
