Alis girls
Yes - I am totally clucking - but hey who cares. As you know I lost my hen Delilah yesterday - leaving me with her sister Jez and our fairly new girl Maggie May. Well went out to collect eggs as usual and - Jez had laid 1 as usual - but Maggie had laid 2!!!! I was shrieking to OH " Maggies laid 2 eggs" he said " dont be silly its not possible is it?" I know I emptied her nest box yesterday as we have them segregated and I was having problems with lock. And I remember reading on here its poss but couldnt remember why. OH said she was making a racket this am - Probably thought " heck whats going on" I like to think its a sign from my departed hen to say shes ok in the big hen house in the sky - reality is it happens - can some one remind me of the reason for it please? Thanks

Alis girls
I know - told you I was mad - I like to think theres an afterlife for animals too- it just fills the void they leave - i dont think I'm alone in that and I know someone will be along with a logical explanation. Someone posted that they thought their hen had laid 2 eggs one day but wasnt sure - i am sure as shes the only one with access to this next box. The Dogmother
that made me laugh. Sometimes they just release two ova in quick succession rather than one... a bit like a woman creating non-identical twins.

If had I had a farm I'd be in egg heaven.
