sadietoo
Oh no... nasty! I don't usually check the date either. As I don't eat meat or fish, I don't know if I can actually get food poisoning. Never try your luck with chilled rice!!!
sadietoo
I have stopped being sick, but still have dioherrea however, I can live with that. My whole body aches though, I feel like I have been punched several times over. Unfortunately the bug gets into all your joints and plays havoc with your body... hope you are feeling better soonxx
Space Chick
Have managed a bit of tea tonight which is good news, but every time I talk, laugh, cough, sneeze I am in agony with my ribs However, unpleasant symptoms seem to have gone now... I hope
soapdragon
Oh, poor you - thats just horrible I have had a few runins with our local Tesco about sell by/use by dates (its difficult to check EVERYTHING when you are doing a 'big' shop) and, on reporting it to Customer Services (not) they say that there are staff whose job it is to monitor the dates but they must have just missed the items that I bought!!!! How dare these retailers take risks with our health!? I have reccolections of a dodgy prawn sarnie from M&S in Reading about 20 years ago (it was very nasty!!!) and it has put me off buying the prawns/crayfish ect that I really love! The only consolation was that I lost 7lb in two days - not exactly the reccomended way to weight loss, tho! So big hugs and all sympathy to you; do give M&S hell; the least you should get is a freebie 'Dine in for Two' but possibly not just yet!!?? sadietoo
this has reminded me...when I worked in Brixton way back in the 80s the local M and S was absolutely appalling for going past sell by dates, and I complained and complained and I was told at the time they were only a "recommendation" Not happy with this, I wrote to head office, only to receive a very nice letter from the manager of the Brixham (Devon) shop saying how sorry he was, and inviting me to come in and talk to him I didn't have the heart to follow it up

Its the Best Before that are a recommendation. Good news, I am feeling much much better... Even managed to eat almost properly yesterday and managed to keep my hairdressers appointment Still weakened by it all, and very stiff and achy, but relieved I will be able to go back to work tomorrow. I hate taking time off sick.
