memphisto
My little boy hasn't been very well the last few days, been diagnosed with a chest infection so he's been a ratty toddler these last few days (and nights!!). We have our routine at night where the girls head to bed about 6.10pm now, and Max likes to go out to say 'Night Night' to them and watching them head up the ramp into the coop. Anyway, tonight, all but Maisie had gone up to bed already, Maisie was roosting on top of the coop, she knows if she is caught roosting she gets cuddled and stroked, not that she seems to mind . I picked her up as normal and held her close, my son never normally bothers but today he wanted to kiss Maisie, not bein overly keen on him kissing a chicken, I said he could stroke her gently. Got down to his level with Maisie and he stroked her, had a little babbly chat with her, whilst she was cooing away, then she put her head against his and they both stayed there for a good 30-40 seconds, then Max went off inside, with Maisie following in hot pursuit. Picked her up again and took her back to the pen, Max came out just before I put her in the pen and he stroked her again and she did the same thing again. Max is completely over the moon and was saying to me ' Mummy, love my 'ickens', we've now had 'Mummy...icken come a bed a me peeese?', sadly, I've had to say no to that one!
