memphisto
Slightly chickeny related.... We rent our house from a really good landlord, we have loads of land and she's been really great with my chooks, we give her free eggs she visits, brings her kids to see the chooks. Today, she popped to get her eggs as usual and dropped a bombshell. She's selling the two houses she owns (ours and our neighbours) as she wants to emigrate to Canada to be nearer her family. I am distraught. However, OH got on the ball and found a cottage in our budget on a working farm. They're OK with cats (we have 2) but aren't sure about the chickens, so have to wait until Monday for a decision, however, the farmer how doesn't live on the farm, has chickens at his home, so I hope it won't be an issue, I really don't want to part with my girls And poor Lottie is still going down hill fast, her comb has flopped over and she can't walk......I think on Monday it may be back to the vet
Ain't Nobody Here
Gosh, that is a bombshell . Good on your OH for finding alternative accommodation so quickly though . Surely, if it's a working farm, chickens won't be an issue .
memphisto
I hope not, it is a dairy farm though. They have said they have dogs that roam around but the cottage garden would be securely fenced off as we have 2 little ones. Was thinking of buying a WIR anyway, just hoping the agent can sway the farmer

House MD 221B
I would hope as he keeps chickens himself he would see not only the fact that his own experience should tell him that yours wouldn't be a bother, and also the opportunity because surely he could use their poo for something useful, fertilizing or even just flower beds? Good luck, hopefully you'll get a positive result.
