hengirl99
Hi I Have 6 chickens- 2 miss pepperpots and 4 gingernut rangers. All of them are laying every day (except the occasional day where i only get 5) and recently my gingernut ranger tiny (as she is very small!) earlobe is turning white from center outwards. I have also noticed this is starting to happen to another one- which is one of the smallest too! (fudge). Please could someone tell me why this is happening?? Thankyou! Chickybaby
This happens to mine too. I think this question came up before and someone did come up with a reason why but I can't remember what it was....sorry! Hopefully they're still on here so you'll have your answer soon. debsygooch
This is happening to my girls earlobes too - I would be very interested to find out why and look forward to someone being able to tell us. Hopefully it's nothing to wrry about?
jackian
I put a post on here about this awhile ago .One of my has this problem . I think there was only one reply and it seems it is common and nothing to worry about. Poppies has been like this for about 2 months but she does not seem to have any ill effects. majuka
You are not alone! I had this happen with our girls. One of them was due for her check up at the vets in relation to something else. I asked the vet if she was going mouldy thinking she had some sort of fungal infection. He told me that it was just like a greasy residue and quite common and nothing to worry about. Egluntyne
Very common. All to do with the leaching of pigments when the hen is in lay. When they have a moult and go off lay, the pigments should build up again.
