keyhole kate
How noisey are small breed cockerels such as frizzles, pekins, silkies and do they crow all day I really hanker to have one in my flock but live in town and have close neighbours
Space Chick
Noisy!!! The smaller breeds tend to have quite shrill crows aswell which are far more annoying than the deeper crows of larger breeds (In my opinion). Also bear in mind that come June they'll be crowing at 3am potentially
chuckmum6
Onion my Wyandotte bantie, crows at 4am ish for a bit then again at getting up time 7 ish. He crow through out the day at various points, sometimes in response to our front gate opening, or in answer to the three other neighbouring cocks or just because he fancies it! He is persistent and loud, I live in a rural village and haven't had complaints (apart from my OH), consider carefully they are noisy by nature, but do add to flock dynamics. coco
Very shrill. I am sitting in my living room with the TV on all all doors and windows closed and my Barbu d Uccle bantam cockerel Rufus has just stopped his morning crow. Luckily he only does it for about 5 mins a time. He was bought as a hen and has only started crowing a few weeks ago. He is ok at the moment due to the dark mornings and I didn't let him out till 8. 15 and he was quite till then. I shall have to see what happens when the lighter mornings come as to whether I will keep him or not. He is lovely though and has a great charecter. We have neighbours on three sides ,
keyhole kate
Thanks everyone I guess I was clutching at straws even though I could put him in my brick shed to a reasonable hour understandably my neighbours would complain. Ah well I guess I will have to work on OH to downsize to a chook suitable property
