Dippy Egg Posted June 20, 2007 Share Posted June 20, 2007 I have created a lovely large area around my Eglu for my chucks to free range on, play bark underneath, sand and shade too. I used the Omlet netting and my hens love it BUT my silly 9 month old Miniature Schnauzer keeps getting his head stuck in it! He is keen to get to the chicken food and poo I think. I very much doubt he would harm the chucks. This happened once yesterday and three times today!. To be honest I should have expected it as when we first got him we had to remove the netting from our footie goal cos he stuck his head through that too! Looks like I will need to buy some fine netting (smaller than puppy head size) and fasten it on top of the Omlet netting with cable ties. What a silly dog! Olly Posted June 20, 2007 Share Posted June 20, 2007 my (late lamented) Cornish Rex not only got stuck in the netting, she managed to get right through it in her panic, and then get stuck the other side! She didn't break it though ... she was a very small cat! It always amazes me that the chickens don't get stuck, they fling themselves at it if they see something tasty on the other side, but always get out again.
