Hi,

I have an eglu and a wooden coop and want to put all my chickens in the eglu, I have a Sussex a brahma and a miss pepper pot from omlet.

Do you think they will all fit into the eglu at night?

Omlet say the eglu is designed for upto 4 light breeds so I'm thinking they might all be ok in there as there's only 3.

Anyone have any options on this?

Thanks

I've had 4 ex-bats sleeping in an eglu and I think others have had more BUT it's the size of the run that's the deciding factor I find. I'd never have more than 3 in a standard eglu run and then I'd expect to give them significant free range time.

So for sleeping you'll be fine I would think. See what others say

They should be fine - I have four hybrids in an Eglu, there is room for the other two but they insist on roosting on top. :roll: It's the run size that is key, as others have said - AT LEAST 1 square metre per chicken, and preferably with some branches or different height levels for perching on, so they can get out of each others' way.

... you could probably get about 12 in there!!...

I did!!! :oops::oops::oops:

The silly-billies kept piling into one despite having more than one :roll:

One week of training later, they've now got the idea. Mind you, if I'm late home and my boys have forgotten to see to the girls - they all pile back into one eglu again :wall:

Oohh they must have been toastie warm in the frosty weather :D

They are funny, it takes ages and heartache to get them all to be friends then once they are they become inseparable. I love to watch my three oldies dustbathing together, they couldn't get any closer if they we glued, hope the new babies get to join in the gang so well.

They Keep us on our toes
