2009 Omlet cube and run for sale

Hi Guys,

 

Getting our new WIR soon, 6ft x 9ft for 3 chooks in a

 

Just wondered what people put in their runs for a bit of enrichment, I have seen pics with little ladders and branches, heard of straw bales etc, just wondered if anyone else had ideas? I have 2 fully able chooks and 1 one legged one so something for her to do would be good too!!

 

Any suggestions/pics welcome - hopefully this will help anyone else building a new WIR too

Wow ANH!! Love your WIR and no mistake plenty of things to do in there!

 

Before I let my girls out I mix mealworms, corn, rocket lettuce (mine go MAD for Rocket!) cherry tomatoes etc into the wood chips a little bit, they spend ages mooching around searching out their fave tidbits, I also tie bunches of nettles to the run wall, that keeps them occupied for a long time too, I have cot a corn on the cob in a bird food holder but they have shown no interest in that at all, yet cut the corn off the cob and it's gone in seconds! Logs to hop and off and a large flowerpot with some sand in it for dustbathing too???

Any ideas for plants you could put in pots in a WIR that the girls would like to play with eat? Would budlia be good? They grow so quickly and easily.
