Settie
Hi, I am just putting a trio of white silkies in a pen to breed. I also have a lovely black silkie hen and was wondering what colour a cross between a White silkie cockerel and a black silkie hen would produce? lindafw
Depends on the genetics of the pair...if your cockerel has black in his ancestary you are likely to get more black chicks..likewise if you hen has white in her more white..best bet...try it and see
Redwing
It depends on what the White is genetically hiding I think The default from many cross colour matings tends to be black offspring

chicken bark
I've just hatched some white silkies so bet there is a boy or two in there. I have two black silkies and a red one so when he grows up was going to put them in together.
