shona
Does anyone know of chicken friendly vets in my area. I live in Kelso, Roxburghshire in the Scottish Borders. One of my Silkies has a prolapsed vent and she needs a knowlegable vet. This is urgent so would appreciate any replies quickly.

Hens@HalfMoonLane
Sorry I can't help you about vets but what a lovely part of the country you live in. We have friends near the castle at hulme I'd love to live up there. There's also some advice on the little hen rescue website which other re prolapses which others have tried. Ain't Nobody Here
I'm so sorry to hear that, poor little thing . I don't know if this would be too much of a trek for you, but the Vet School just south of Edinburgh will treat chickens. They successfully treated one of my girls who had peritonitis. sparkysmum
Sorry she didn't make it shona. For the future, do check out local vet practices even if they're not "expert". For example our local vets, whilst not being avian specialists, have vets who keep poultry and I am confident they know what they're doing. Might save you a few quid and the chickens the stress of travelling. Take care. Alli x
