Has anyone bought this WIR before-Advice needed

OK so now I'm bitten by the bug for a WIR & the more I look at the area and prep needed and work needed the more I'm thinking it will probably be cheaper to buy one than build!!

Has anyone had this one before :?:

How easy it is to attach the cube from the outside :?:

My area is 14ft X 10ft so this 12 X 9 will fit comfortably, & it has the kick boards & it has a roof :D

ALL advice gladly received

Hi,

I have the 12 x 6 version

The cube isn't attached at all, it just sits butted up to the side. It's so heavy and didn't budge in the high winds we had recently.

It was fairly easy to put up. The only thing I would say is that there's probably not enough screws supplied. I ended up buying some self tapping super strong ones as the holes aren't pre-drilled so they're a pain to screw in.

I'd check how much cheaper it would be to supply your own sheeting for the roof too. They sent the wrong size with mine so I got my own replacements from B&Q and the quality was much better.

One other thing to think about is that the cube ladder doesn't fit so you'll have to have something else for them to use, I've got some decking tiles.

All in all though I'm pretty pleased with it. :D

Mine is one of them and we drilled holes before screwing them together which made it easier. Mine is 11' 6" x 7' 6" and the cube fits well to a wide panel I had it custom made to fit my space so caused a few complications, I think I was the first to fit a cube to a bay house.

Seen ones on the forum now where Chris supplies them with cube fixing area. :D

This shows the cube butting up to the run

Thanxs Plum. Have admired yours before :D

OK....action plan!

Need to decide if I have one made to measure to make the use of all the space or buy one which is a best fit. The big thing will be cost :(

Tomorrow I will go and do correct measurements then email Chris & see what he comes up with :)

ooo how eggciting Yorkshire Pudding.

My set up will be with the (cube green) on the outside & I will have my (purple eglu) on the inside.

Plum: My problem is my area is not flat. The flatish bit is 14ft X 10ft (remeasured today) but there is a bit at the back which is raised 1ft and a further 1 ft deep. This area backs onto the fence separating our garden from next door. I was thinking of including that area and adapting the WIR to include the area but I have about 9 tree stumps and HUGH gaps under the fence. It would make fox/rat proofing a nightmare so I have decided to just work the low risk element of ground. I know this sounds like a cope out but I couldn't bear it if anything got to my ladies. What I could do with is getting someone in and looking at the area and giving me good advice....but I know it would cost a fortune!! I have to be sensible at some stage  OMG I'm getting sensible :shock: when did that happen :shock::!::!::lol::lol::lol:
