KimmyCustard
As the title says: one of Bertha's eyes looks odd. Instead of the pupil being round, it looks as though a V shape has been cut out of it and only a little black is showing. She is fine in all other ways, eating and drinking and racing for mealworms. There isnt any yellow or green gunge coming from it, is it an eye infection do you think? Do I contact a chickeny vet? Thanks everyone! surfer_chicken
Is this recent or has her pupil always been that shaped? One of my old hens, Gingy, had pupils that were more oval than circular and they always had been. She was one of my original three omlet hens so I never realised it was something peculiar! She lived for just over two years like that though, so I don't think it was anything harmful. It's a little odd it's only on one side though
Purplemaniacs
Agatha one of my ex batts has one pupil that is a tear drop shape. She seems very happy, it doesn't bother her, she is lovely but does't lay any eggs but enjoys life Chrissie
KimmyCustard
She has always had roundy pupils, I just noticed yesterday that one is now not looking normal. Its very hard to tell if she can see out of it, she's still eating and drinking and acting like the demon that she usually is. I wondered if she's scratched it or caught some straw on her eye. Very odd.
