Hairy Bikers

Recommended Posts

I dont have it, but I am a big fan of their recipes.

Havent made anything yet that didn't work and wasnt lovely.(all tends to be non diet friendly mind-probably why it always tastes so good)

I pick up a lot of their recipes from the BBC food website.

£7.99 sounds like a good price though, I do know the book people always have really good prices.

I got it for Mothers Day. It's great, as good as the other books they have done.

I missed them in Hull yesterday at a book signing why do they have to be during the day when I'm at work. :shameonu:

But I have tickets for the live show in October.:clap:

Have just made the stromboli from the Italian section in the book for tea. Left out the prosciutto, otherwise followed the recipe and it was delicious. Devoured by everyone. Just looked at the recipe, says it feeds 6, ours struggled to feed the 5 of us, and there I was hoping for a little leftover for lunch tomorrow. Highly recommended by all!

Also made the Dutch butter cake, another yum, but I didn't have the right sized tin, so could have done with a little longer in the oven, but the almonds were starting to burn. Only half left though so must have been ok!

My book has been despatched. Woohoo! I enjoyed last nights show & although they didn't stop in Salzburg - I recognized every street! I wasn't impressed with their Linzertorte. :shameonu: I can vouch for both Sacher Torte - I have had both the Hotel Sacher & the Demel. The Hotel Sacher one has the edge for me. Mm mm mmm.

I loved the Yodelling Hobbit man. I wanted to eat his Kase Spatzle. So much so, I had to go find my recipe for it. But I'm not sure what I have done with my potato ricer machine / gadget. Grrrr!

I have walked on Grossglockner ( the glacier) - stunning it is!

I absolutely love their programmes & they even stayed at a Hotel in Goa, India - that we were in. We admired these motorbikes every day & the signs ' The Hairy Bikers'. But they weren't so famous then & we hadn't heard of them - so we just thought they were 2 mates doing an across India tour.

I do like them, but their programme has the opposite effect that cookery programmes usually have on me. In that they don't make me hungry. Its just them stuffing their faces with all the food. I know its filmed over several days, but I think its just the portions and the editing make them look like they are constantly eating :D

I however will still be watching  YD told me about the stromboli, so I think we shall be trying it soon. It is lovely to see all the different places of the various countries, not the usual places and tourist traps.
