iar fach goch
Am celebrating the big 40 this summer and instead of a big party and trip to New York, Barcelona etc as most of my friends are doing, have decided to do something special each month of the year. As some of you may have read in my other post this year has been quite difficult due to my friend being diagnosed with liver cancer, so this gives me something to look forward to each month, rather than being over and done with in one. It also means that my boys can do some of the things with me, some activities have been chosen with them in mind, for example the wrestling in Manchester later this month. Have just seen that Nickelback are on tour in October, and I would love to see them, as would my eldest who is a huge fan and will be twelve by then. Only problem is, I don't like leaving out my youngest, who will be 7. What do you think? Is seven too young for a rock concert?
Griffin
I took Molly to see The Killers a few years ago, she must've only been 9 or 10 but they were her favourite band at the time and she absolutely loved it. I will never forget her little face during their first song when she turned to me, tears in her eyes, and said "I'm so happy Mummy I'm crying!" We had a great night and she'll never forget it. I'd say if he liked Nickelback it wouldn't matter what age he is. Just make sure he can see, I made sure we had seats quite high up as opposed to standing down amongst the crowd. superkitty
I was raised in a new age hippie travelling family and was regularly at festivals, rock concerts etc since toddler-dom. No harm done to me, and some of my best childhood memories are of running wild to loud live music Bet he'll love it.

Cinnamon
It might be worth taking a pair of ear plugs with you, just in case he finds it too loud. A mini can of that cooling spray might be an idea too. I don't think mine did their first gigs until they were in their teens, but if it is seated & you have a few things in case of emergencies,I reckon it would be good
Yorkshire Pudding
We took our two to their first gig in January , aged ten and twelve. The tickets were Christmas presents. The band was one of their favourites (All Time Low) but doing our homework made it a much better evening. First we checked out the venue - seated upstairs, mosh pit down. Upstairs for us! Second I talked to people who had already seen them live & was warned that most of the audience would be older teens and some swearing & innuendo was the norm. So our kids were prepared for that and so were we, unlike the lady a few seats along who spent the whole gig looking shocked and upset... The result was a brilliant night out for everyone, and we massively improved our 'cool parents' rating

scubababe
We have taken our kids to concerts, shows & open air concerts since they were born. They are currently 2 & 4 and we will continue to take them...it's all part of their growing up and experiencing different things..well that's our excuse and we're sticking to it!!! whoopsie
Have a fabulous time! I don't think it's ever too young, though I think the suggestion of ear plugs (or even mini ear defenders) is a great one.
