Any info appreciated- Elder Scrolls vs Skyrim

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking of getting this on PS3. I like RPG especially but I think this is 1st person and I prefer 3rd person. I think it can be played in either - is that right?

I've read that it has problems on PS3 but only if you play excessively. Is that right?

It sounds fun and most reviews are positive, just thought I'd see if anyone ( or their sons!) have any thoughts.

Thanks

Jude

Sorry Cinnamon, very sexist of me. Thanks, I would be grateful for any info before I decide to buy it, but it looks like brilliant escapism and I'm new to these particular games.

Couperwife, I reckon it's a game you could do, leave for a long time and come back to. That's how I plan to play it but apparently it's very addictive. I was reading reviews and people play it for hours on end, forgetting to actually live a life, which if you've read Otherland is scary.

When I read 'The Passage', the house and family were neglected, I'm hoping the game will have the same effect - they're adults and will survive!

I have it on PS3 and love it - it is a brilliant game and one that you can lose hours in. The previous one, Oblivion was also excellent. There was a lot of talk about delays and lagging on the PS3 but they have various updates that have eliminated this i believe. I have not experienced any problems at all and I've probabyly played 60-70 hours(apart from one glitch where dragons flew backwards :? which has since been fixed). I'd recommed you get it - although it is still quite a lot of money so if you want to try out something very similar I'd also recommend Oblivion which is about £10 normally and gameplay is more or less the same, just a different story.

You can change the view from 1st to 3rd person although personally I think 1st person works best for this especially when creeping through scary caves and ruins!
