RIP Chickpea

Recommended Posts

At the start of the year we were lucky enough to be given a hen by a friend - a 'chicken of opportunity' named Chickpea (http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=84535&p=1158661&hilit=chickpea#p1158661). Sadly, on our return from an Easter break, we discovered she'd died earlier today.

Whilst in good shape, Chickpea been alone for some time and was an old girl so it was a pleasure to watch her get to know the other hens, and she assumed the top hen role with some gusto. As with any gingernut, she was friendly and inquisitive. She loved to stroll slowly alongside me in the garden and it was a pleasure to hear the noises of delight she made at even the most mundane of foods.

I'm glad that she got to spend some time with us and the hens and in the short time she was with us quickly became loved.

RIP Chickpea...
