welovemarmite
I was reading in the ticks thread about different treatments. And then though about how much I must be spending at the vets on flea and worming treatment for all my animals (my own fault for having so many!!). Now with five cats and a puppy, surely I must be able to buy online, in bulk and save money. So, i looked at vets uk and they dont do my normal cat wormer (milbemax) but they do do drontal, I guess its the same but I may be ignorant here. I normally use stronghold flea treatment, but was told at the vets that Fiprospot is better as it does ticks as well. So, do others buy online in bulk? If so where from. The only place i know of is vets uk. Thanks Kaye
The Dogmother
I can get our wormers cheaper at the local pharmacy but the flea/tick treatment I use is px only, so no luck there.
Eggasperated
I always use Milbemax for my cats, which I have to get at the vets, as I have had two previous cats unwell after using Drontal.
Lavenders_Blue
Vet UK do supply Milbemax, but as it is prescription only, you have to obtain a prescription from your vet to send in to them. Some vets charge for this. Same with Frontline Combo. It's probably no cheaper if you have to pay for the prescription! I believe Drontal is as effective as Milbemax, I bought it once for Tango but it gave her a dreadfully upset tummy so expensive Milbemax it is for her instead! welovemarmite
Thanks, wondering wether if might be worth giveing it a go and seeing if they react. The worming tablets i get from the vets are £5 each!!
Ain't Nobody Here
I've always got Riley's wormers from the vets but the medication for his arthritis is 3 times the price I can get it online so it's worth paying the £11 for a prescription. They usually allow 3 repeat prescriptions too which makes it even more worthwhile.
