I have bought a second-hand eglu. It does not have any screws to screw the base to the upright front section. When I look there are holes at the front of the base where it looks like it has been screwed but no holes in the front section to put the screw through.

Should I worry if it is not screwed together or should I make some holes but if so where, DIY not my strong point :D

Thanks

Mmmm very confused the front upright section does not have any holes for the 4 screws that should fix it to the base.

I have clambered and slithered into my other eglu and run (it is clean awaiting the chicks when they are big girls) and where I expected there to be screw holes it has screws and inside there are two more screws going downwards.

Wonder if this is a slightly different version and how secure will it be without the screws?

I have unscrewed mine a couple of times to replace bent kick bars but they are an absolute nightmare to unscrew and I've ended up mashing up the screw head so it wouldnt be possible to unscrew in the future :(

I would leave it unscrewed personally, it will be miles easier to clean. I have a red Eglu where that gap seems to be a magnet for red mite

Once the top is on I would imagine it would be quite a feat to dislodge the front and top together

Thanks all I have decided to leave it unscrewed as I don't want to end up messing it up, my original one put together by Omlet is screwed not sure about the other second hand one I have but I think it probably is as it stays together when you move it.

Thanks all for your replies, you were all far more helpful than Omlet who are not answering their phone or returning calls when you leave a message, I am surprised
