Silvermorgan Moon
Hi I bought four 10 week old bantams two weeks ago, all settled in fine but today the frizzle is rather under the weather. She is sitting most of the time closing her eyes and not joining in with the others eating or drinking. She has clear eyes and nose not sneezing or anything obvious. Should I leave her with the others or separate her? Not sure what is best Any ideas appreciated.
chestnutmare
She sounds poorly. If it were me, I'd take her to the vet asap and separate her. I'd probably bring her in the house and keep her warm. But thats just me. Hope she recovered quickly.

Egluntyne
Hmmmm .... if she has something infectious there will be a risk to those chicks.
Egghead68
I would bring her in and keep her warm by herself. I think she needs to see a vet.
miller30
Hi cocci is coccidiosis they can get bloody poo or yellow runs and have no energy and very sleepy and droopy wings and can kill them i wouldnt put it with any other chicks i would do what others are saying and bring it in put it in a box on its own personally i wouldnt bother with a vet i would keep an eye on its poo to see if you need to give it coxoid or if its not cocci you could try something like herban if you have any sometimes they can just become ill and you never know whats wrong with them leanne. Chucky Mama
Hmmmm .... if she has something infectious there will be a risk to those chicks. I agree, I certainly wouldn't mix her with any 'healthy' chicks. If it is not eating or drinking, it will dehydrate quickly, particularly under heat. You should seek experienced help if you are unsure what is going on. Knowing what the poo is like is helpful in terms of aiding diagnosis. Encouraging fluid intake should be encouraged to help deal with dehydration. Chicks of this age can deteriorate very quickly so I wouldn't delay in getting things under control. Good Luck.
