My chicks are 8 weeks old now and they have been in my conservatory since I got them 2 weeks ago.

I thought as it was nice today, I could maybe let them have a little play on the grass tomorrow - if it is still nice.

They would still be in the little rabbit run and I would still give them their cat box, but I just thought they might like a taste of the great outdoors - just for an hour or so.

Would this be alright for them or is it just best to leave them where they are ? I wouldn't want to upset them in any way.

Mine aged 5 weeks have been FR with mum and everyone else over the last week when the weather has allowed no one has took any notice of them

 

But I guess it is different if they are incy hatched I am guessing you have to follow the usual intros someone knowledgeable will be along soon with great advice. Gorgeous aren't they

as long as it's dry and the grass isn't to long then they should be fine start off slow my be an hour the first time then with in a couple of weeks they should be able to move outside full time I've got 4 week olds outside but they have mom to show them the ropes

I might cut the grass first then - it needs cutting anyway in places.

I'm sure they will enjoy it and hopefully by the time I get back from work the sun will be in my garden. It faces North.

I just heard the weather and it is going to be nice tomorrow

 

I can't wait to see what they think of it

And it will give me a good chance to hoover all of their woodshavings out of everywhere.

Mine are 5 1/2 weeks and they have now moved outside with no heat. It has been lovely here today and is forecast to be that way for the rest of the week. They first went on grass at about 3 weeks when we had some nice weather. They love it outside and are so much happier.
