dancing cloud
I'll admit it sounds like a silly question, but our dogs moult a soft cotton-woolly undercoat as well as a harsher outer coat and it seems a shame to just throw it all away. Years ago, my mum had some spun into wool and knitted a lovely warm sweater, but it was very heavy and took forever to dry when washed. Having just groomed nearly 1/2 a bin-bag full out of four of them, I got to thinking there must be a use for it, other than for birds to line their nests with, and wondered if I could refill the squares of an old duvet with it. It could then be used as a nice warm dog-blanket in winter (and it would certainly smell comfortingly familiar!). Any thoughts as to whether this would work? Or any other uses for bags-ful of fluffy dog fur? Omleteers are sure to have thought of something
The Dogmother
I don't see why not. I've often thought similar when hand-stripping the bunnies when they are moulting.
bluekarin
I thought you meant for a hooman duvet for a sec I think that's a lovely idea for a dog duvet I think it would work if you did pockets of it like in a feather duvet. I am sure someone will be along who has some other ideas for you
The Dogmother
I agree with the pocketed idea. It would need to have a waterproof cover too; our dog bedding gets washed weekly because they eat their bones on it and it gets manky.
dancing cloud
I thought you meant for a hooman duvet for a sec If we get another cold winter, I might be sharing it with them! Shared the sofa with the three girls last night, watching the footie, and it was ever so warm and toasty, all snuggled up with them
