Clash City Rocker Posted June 27, 2012 Share Posted June 27, 2012 Just completed my London to Paris charity bike ride. Fabulous Experience. Great Laugh. 3 days, just under 250 miles in some of the worst weather France has had this year. Torrential rain & Strong winds for most of the trip. A 3 hour delay at Dover mean't we didn't get to bed until 3.00am and had to leave at 07.30am on the first night !! We were less than a mile from the Eiffel tower when we saw it for the first time through the rain. 39 riders have so far raised around £60.000.00 for various charities which should rise to £100,000.00+ when all monies are collected. The only down side to the trip, All 43 bikes were written off in an accident somewhere between Paris & Calais (no-one injured) on their way back to the UK. Well done Sounds like very hard work to me, great that you've all raised so much money grotty weather must have been a real pain, though perhaps scorching sunshine would have been equally as bad? A 100km cycle around central London visiting all the "Landmarks". Starting at 23.00hrs and finishing at 06.00am the following morning with a bit of a party, some breakfast and a few beers at the end.
