counturchickens Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 After worrying about one of our newbies all night, cj has just died suddenly. She was a rescued ex batt last year, and nearly died when we first had her due to an impacted crop but was rescued by forum advice and maggots! So, she has had over a year of freedom, and only 1/2 a days illness, in fact she laid an egg on Saturday. In fact there hasn't been many days when she hasn't laid. she was a real character, the noisiest hen by far, and whinged her way around the garden every day.
