mimi5
So how's your little pekin doing now?? Hope she is continuing to improve...?
Egghead68
I think she is fully recovered. Thank you very much for asking, Mimi. She has been off all meds and oil since Saturday and doesn't seem blocked any more. She is eating well and very noisy! Not sure why she has had this twice now. I wonder if she had an infection (brachyspira) that led to malnutrition that led to eating nonfood stuff. I will continue to keep a close eye. The Dogmother
That's good news. She may just be prone to a bit of gastric stasis, just make sure that she gets plenty of grit and be prepared to fast her with fluids only if it looks like coming back. Egghead68
Thanks everyone! I am very pleased. And thanks for the very helpful advice, Dogmother.
The Dogmother
Do you add ACV to the water on a regular basis? That helps a lot with digestive health.
Tweety
My avian vet recommends Beryl's Friendly Bacteria for digestive problems, and it worked wonders with one of my girls.
The Dogmother
That works, depending on what the problem is.
Egghead68
I used to give them ACV but haven't done recently. I will start putting it in the water once a week. I use Avipro normally when they are under the weather but have now ordered some Beryl's to try instead. Thanks very much both of you for the tips.
