Solving Omlet Smart Auto Door Timing Issues with Alexa Routines

Is it one that's been used to breed from, but isn't currently breeding, a local supplier has these or eggs or unsexed chicks. I really want a dark brown egg layer, but these are the only options.

I would imagine it could be any age if this is the case ?

It is a young chick which is no longer under a brooding lamp. Probably 6 weeks plus in age or thereabouts.

Oh great thanks very much egluntyne, I was totally wrong, but I can cope with slightly older chicks, as I have a separate secure house and appropriate feeders, just need to get the right feed....

 

Good news indeed, thanks for getting back to me, so quickly. Googled it, and I could only get recipes for chicken !!

I agree with Egluntyne a chick that no longer needs heat to keep warm. If you get these you will need to feed them growers pellets until they are point of lay. If they are still on chick crumb ask the breeder for some so you can mix it in with the growers to help them get used to the change in food.

Please bear in mind that sometime off heat chicklets, might not always be sexed. Although by then there are clues as to what sex they can be - depends on the breed.

Thanks for all the advice, decided, I couldn't risk the not being sexed chick worry, and am hoping my existing girls will one day lay again. I was looking at off heat sexed chicks, but decided the weather was too iffy for my set up....fell over in the garden twice whilst preggers seeing to my existing girls
