Unsecure chicken perches

Normally when we go away I leave my chickens at the chicken sitters. However, this time we are only going away for a weekend so it seems a bit of a faff. I am thinking of leaving them in the Cube with the run door closed so no garden access and leaving the pop door open at all times. Then asking a neighbour to check once a day on food & water and to take eggs away. Does that seem reasonable or is it a bit neglectful ?

 

We will be leaving on a fri am and home by the monday afternoon.

Yes I did this in my last house where I had a lovely neighbour who was more than happy to just check on them once or twice over the weekend. They were fine and I let them keep eggs in thanks.

I have done this in the past and they have been absolutely fine. They will grumble at you when you get home but they soon get over it

I regularly need to leave my chucks from Saturday early morning until Sunday afternoon. I leave them with free access to the Cube and run, plenty of food and lots of water and they are fine.
