Just switched on the telly and watched the last 15 mins- fantastic! Havn't watched before as thought it prob wasn't my 'thing' but, oh my goodness, it was great ! Really stirring! I would love to take the boys (now 4 and 7fast approaching8going on 40) in a few years.

 

Has anyone else been with youngish children and what were your thougts?

I went as a child. I can't remember how old I would have been, maybe 10 or 11ish, and I seem to remember I enjoyed it. That said, I watched it last night on TV and could happily have punctured all the bagpipes by the end! (The non-bagpipey stuff was excellent though!).

I caught some of it last night as well - the Top Secret (?) Drum Corps were amazing!

Yes they were brilliant weren't they! That was my fave bit of the evening.

We took our kids to the Royal Tournament from when they were very small. I think the twins were only 4-ish. They all always loved it and loved all the noise and smoke and I never had any problems. Be warned though if you'd rather they didn't join the forces. From our first trip, that was what ES and later the twins wanted to do. They are very good recruiting tools.
