pixiewish
So thrilled to randomly find a beautiful perfectly formed little egg deposited round the back of the chicken run sometime this afternoon!! Now how do i encourage them to lay in the nest box area?
LottyJ1
Congratulations First eggs are always exciting!! One of mine has just started laying all over the run so I have put a rubber egg in the nest box - no eggs since so not sure if its gonna work! wannabe smallholder
Wooohooo! Congratulations!! I felt like a new mum the other day when Doris produced her first egg! Not sure about encouragement for laying in nest box, think I was very lucky but I had considered a fake egg if they didn't oblige. cyclonetog
I found they just sort of get the idea. First one I found was in the middle of the garden, when they first lay I don't think they really know what's going on but when they've laid a few they know what to do about it.
