Just wanted to share the excitement... we are picking up our rescue boys tomorrow, two handsome little guinea pigs who are under one year old, were born in rescue, and are now coming to their forever home... Looney Posted September 24, 2012 Share Posted September 24, 2012 We looked at local rescue centres when getting our boys but in the meantime we found our two that were being sold off cheap locally as no-one wanted them! They are getting more at ease with us, though it is slow progress. They were 6-ish months old when we got them so weren't used to being handled from a very early age. They do now squeak with excitement when they hear the back door open as they expect treats to come their way! Look forward to seeing your pics Are you keeping them inside our outdoors? They are settling very well... they were understandably very skittish when they arrived yesterday after the long car journey,and they dashed off to hide every time someone walked past... but that's all settled now, they had relaxed by the evening, and instead of running off, would come to the bars of their cage to investigate who was around... they are not keen on being picked up, but once they're held, they relax quite nicely... We have them indoors, in a huge cage, close to our rabbits... A few pictures : This is Kyushu And Kyushu with DD2, who is home from school today as she's not feeling well, and gave the piggies a cuddle : And Shikoku... whose colouring gave the camera some trouble... it took three cameras and a manual focus for the pictures to be in focus!!
