I've bitten the bullet and bought the big girls a WIR (not an Omlet one as the pennies wouldn't go that far). It's the galvanised metal sort 4 x 2m and I've managed to attach the pink cube and one length of run to it without problem. The assembly instructions were pretty much your own interpretation though :? It's looking very tidy in the garden and doesn't take up any more room than the cube train. Very pleased with my efforts, after 4 days of being damp and wet and muddy/poopy. I think the girls will be more impressed when I've tweaked it about and made it more interesting for them, although they're rather enjoying the wormies and bugs that are surfacing in the mud :vom: .

The plan is to then part with the (cube green):( so I can pay for the run and put some towards my chimney fixing fund.

The Bantie Kingdom is the converted greenhouse with the Wood Shack attached although I have plans to extend that a bit too.

Congratulations! You won't regret it - getting a WIR was the best (chicken-related) thing I've done. It transforms the whole experience of keeping hens, I love the Eglu (which I still have inside the WIR) and was very happy with the standard set-up for the first three/four years, but I wouldn't go back.

WIR are great. Mine is a 4mtr by 4mtr galvanised affair with appex roof and took two days to errect. I attached the (cube green) train to it. However the wire was very flimsy and a few months later I relaced it with heavy duty stuff, took me another two days to do this. I also put an omlet syle skirt around the base. I have since covered the back with a roll of bark and the appex top with tarpuline. I am able to leave the cube door open as is is fox resistant. But found it very usefull when I was doing into's as I was able to shut it off. :D I have also put a (cube green) run door on the side of the (cube green) train and have an outside free range area. I also have clear tarpauline on the cube train. Having two access points in (cube green) train makes life much easier. I am as pleased as punch. :D I must take some pictures and upload to flickr.

Sounds like what I've just got only bigger. I've attached the cube run section using the marvel of cable ties, omlet clips and the overlapping gap has been filled by half of the small door end panel that I had which also gives me an access flap to where the glug is without going in the big run. Although at the moment I'm just using any old excuse to bob in and out the lovely big door, no more getting my bottom wedged or falling in the run for me thank you very much  . Will get a lovely clear all in one tarpaulin after payday, it looks a bit hotch potch cover wise at the minute.

Yes my tarpaline on the WIR is a bit of a hotch pot. I didn't want to cover the sides and was unable to get the size I wanted so I used a smaller one and have used an old green one I had in the shed. I promise I will take pictures. Yes cable ties are marverlous, I used them to put the weld mesh on the WIR, attach the (cube green) train and attach the tarpauline. I managed to buy huge packs of ties in Aldi. The floor is dirt and I put a thick layer of fallen leaves in there, the chooks love them.
