Is this normal ?

Recommended Posts

I bought my mum two Silver Laced Wynadottes in august (Jane and Katherine) They are about 27 weeks now.

I bought them for her as she loves my Prilly but hers seem to so shy and reclusive. She goes out in the morning to feed them and they are out in the run with her other girls, they hear the food but as soon as she goes in the run they dissappear to the hedges , everytime mum goes up they do this even when food and treats are on offer, they wont fed with mums other girls but are happ to roost with them in their house.

I think she is possibly going to put them in her ark so she can try and get them use to her and being handled. My mum loves to have cuddles with her girls (like we all do) and Jane & Katherine need to learn this.

I am just curious as to wether this is normal behaviour for young chooks

Good plan shall tell mum think she may have been doing this as she mentioned how one of the two sleeps on the perch the other underneath so she gets pooped on, silly girl

My girls are off to hers for a holiday so they are all in for lots of cuddles plus Jane and Katherines hatching brother. Just hope mum doesnt get attached to my Marilyn and Connie as they love attention, mind you Connie is a marvelous escapee so I expect so will be out in the main garden with Miss Anna Tufty :-)
