Coping with a child with behavoir problems

I think that that is very true, re parents sometimes being blind to their own offspring's behaviour, purely because they are too close to see things clearly.

Ultimately it becomes a safeguarding issue, you have a duty of care to go above the parents heads if you have concerns about the safety of a child (with regard to his talk of self harming)

But hopefully that will not be required as grandparents are now on board - good luck with it and I hope he soon gets the appropriate help x
