Lesley
Rather than derail the bread thread........ For 850g of flour I use 15g of salt, but the maldon sea salt stuff, I find anything else too salty and chemical tasting, for this I use 11g dried yeast kinsk - try this some time..... http://www.halenmon.com/ - we always buy some when we're in Anglesey. Wow thank you for the link, am going to order some. Have never heard of oak smoked water!! Might have to order some of the salted caramel too and maybe a couple of other things That's new since I last visited, so is the caramel sauce. Their salt grinders are excellent - i.e. they work!! I have 6 now, with different salts and peppers in them.....one of them has sugar and lavender flowers in, a bit of a shock when you're expecting salt and herbs The smoked salt is our favourite. SylvisMum
I am sure I have bought that before, when I have visited Anglesey. It is also available on Amazon.
Lesley
I never thought of looking on Amazon! We stocked up on our last visit before my Mum moved back to the Midlands but we need some more soon.
SylvisMum
I don't think you can get all the varieties from Amazon but I ordered 2 X 250 grams of the plain salt off Amazon in the week and it arrived promptly with super saver delivery. Was going to buy the celery salt but it looked as if it was coming from a different supplier. I would have had to pay postage on that so I decided to make my own, with celery seed and the Anglesey Sea Salt. Thanks for the link though - it reminded me of the A S S which I had forgotten. CatieB
I read this thread with interest and am going to order salt and pepper grinders as ours are not very good and leave a trail of seasoning everywhere. Another omlet recommendation DH will ban me soon. What I don't understand is how amazon sell them cheaper than the company itself but now I've seen it makes sense to order from Amazon. Thanks. Lesley
It will be cheaper for me than a trip back to Anglesey - although I do miss Anglesey I don't like their celery salt and I make my own with the plain salt and celery seeds from our own plants. Sue_F
The vanilla salt is amazing! I put it in custards etc
soapdragon
Halen Mon is great - we have bought it on visits to Pembrokeshire but, when we can't get it we use Maldon (from Tesco!) and they do a smoked salt too which is lovely!
