Harry's protest against this mornings cat food tin

Recommended Posts

I bought one brand of cat food, but both of my darlings have decided they no longer like it.

Every week or so, I try them with a tin to see if they will change their minds on it (knowing how fickle cats can be) but every time it's the same.

Harry will sniff the food, go out through the cat flap and will go to the woods behind to catch his own breakfast.

This morning, I managed to catch him with his breakfast, and thought that anyone who doesn't understand cats liking raw prey may like to see it :P

My two get homemade raw in the evenings too.... But not quite as exotic as what they catch themselves ;)

So, here is Harry with his breakfast :D

WARNING VERY GRAPHIC VIDEO! NO CATS WERE HARMED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO! BUT A MOUSE DIED!

This business of them routinely changing their minds about which brands/sorts of food they like is really annoying isn't it. You think you've got it cracked, buy a mountain of stuff, then they won't touch it and would rather starve than eat it

Mine started out eating anything - mostly Whiska or Felix, meat or fish, jelly or gravy. Now they will only eat Felix fish in jelly, preferably only the salmon flavour. I think this is a devious plot to make me buy the more expensive range which they will eat

You are not wrong there

They are fickle so and so's. I import my cat food tins from Germany now, as they are better quality, they have about 5 different brands, but this one brand (all flavours) they have started to turn their noses up at.

This is why I have taken to feeding them a raw meal a day too using the "Frankenprey" method. They NEVER turn their noses up at raw.

I'd switch them fully over to raw, but my MIL is a bit squeamish and she feeds them when we are away, hence keeping them on half tinned/half raw, so they are used to still eating tins

Cats, who'd have 'em

Fickle is one way of putting it. Our 2 have dental probs - not our fault they had it when we got them - rescue centre omitted that bit. Was in Pets at home perusing the different foods and OH remarked " why dont they do one for fat, fussy pain in the bum cats?" good point - any food manufacturers out there? BTW he didnt say "bum" but cant write it as I will be told off
