Electric door for my cube made by daddy dearest

Recommended Posts

I was asked to post some pictures and to be honest whilst my dad is amazing the idea did come from an earlier topic on here, I sent Dad the picture with the following 'All i want for christmas please :-)'

Anyway Boxing day we were out in the run fixing this pictures to follow ..........

It has a teenie design flaw at the moment but we have a solution and will be modifying it as soon as I can get to a DIY place to get some bits. At the moment you cant open the slidey roof for the access to the back, well you can just need an electruc screwdriver and to be honest as when I am needing that type of access its for a proper clean i am happy to unscrew the 4 screws to do so (i mean it only adds a minute on to a job that takes a while anyway) Our solution will be to add some hinges to the bottom so I can unclip the electric door and its frame, alomost like a drwbridge type thing (does that make sense ??)

What I love about this is the omlet door is totally unaffected so I can close the door if I feel they need extra security.

Anyway heres the pics ...

Dad couldnt remember what colour my cube was but I think it goes lovely with the pink

I know not everyone agrees with electric doors buts its great for us, I dont have a WIR and in the summer we spend Saturday nights at our caravan so this allows my girls to be let out, they have plenty of food and water (about to trial a new self feeding device again need bits from that DIY store) and we are never back late on the Sunday.

That's great we have a similar one on our garden eglu which we use for intros etc and its lovely to know if you're out and it gets dark they are shut in. Your dad is clever I like the contrasting green I also like the pink for a splash of colour very cheerful I think :D
