:D Your Harry looks just like my Billy 8)

How did you do the intros? I had to have Bill's sister PTS last week and both he and I are a bit sad. He is a timid boy, aged 12. He has already been spending a bit of time with next door's younger girl cat, and I think he might do well with a youngster of his own. He certainly used to spend time every day grooming his sister, before beating her up whilst playfighting  Its all a bit weird because normally he is quite nervous of other cats and isn't overkeen on the outdoors, but I'm wondering if a companion will help him if he can be 'top cat'. He does seem to be missing his sister and there's a limit to how cat like I can be :D

Sorry about your girl Daphne :(

The intros weren't dissimilar to chicken intros

Started with Sophie in a cat carrier so Harry and Sabrina could smell her and see her (we had a very small amount of hissing) we did this in short bursts, then Sophie was returned to her "safe room", then once the hissing stopped we allowed them to have supervised time together, gradually building this up.... And now they are fine to be left alone supervised or unsupervised and get on great :D

We've felt confident to leave them alone together for the past day or two, so the intros took about 11/12 days.

I would say, if Billy is still playful in himself, get a younger cat (or even 2) so 9 months or younger. The reason being that older cats tend to get less territorial about babies. The reason I say think about 2 is the kittens are quite full on with their play, so a timid 12 year old may not respond well to such attention, but if there are 2 they will amuse each other and take the heat off him.

I didn't need to worry about that with my two, Sabrina is still quite playful at 4 Years old, and Harry is 3 going on 3 months in terms of playfulness
