Mrs Frugal
I'm feeling miserable as LSH is away so I'm about to make some bread by hand as my breadmaker has gone kaput (again - this is my 4th in 5 years ) and as I have a cupboard full of flour, I'm going to bake, bake, bake to cheer myself up!! Hope you find something to do Sarah. Nothing worse than being bored at home. Daytime TV is not worth switching on either !
Lesley
I've got 'Avian Flu' and feel dreadful , I've got a cupboard full of flour but don't feel like cooking , I have two letters to send to America so I might write those - and I like daytime TV There are a couple of programmes worth watching, I usually record them and watch them late at night but today I will watch them live. Property Auction programme is next PS I had to wait for a delivery yesterday but they arrived at 9.30am - I was very impressed Hope yours arrives early Sarah and then you can go shopping ( ) Edited November 8, 2005 by Guest
Cate in NZ
I do know what you mean about boring days at home- really I do, but right now I'm dreaming of a boring at home day. I'm under a lot of pressure at work, hubby has been away a lot recently, conferences, courses, working unsocial hours because there's no one around to cover for him, and I'm so fed up of not having the time to do the things I want to. Even if all I want is an hour with a trashy novel and a cup of tea Actually I desperately want quite a lot more than an hour with some vinegar, old newspaper and my incredibly grimy windows I don't think they've been cleaned for months Christmas . I've bought the cards, not written yet, and not a single present bought either, usually I've got a few gifts hidden away by now, but absolutely not a single thing yet, and furthermore, not a single idea I haven't even seen my chickens properly for ages, I see them in the morning to collect eggs, feed & let them in the run, then it's off to work.... and they've gone to roost by the time I get home , so I just say goodnight and close the pop-hole. I'm at work now, not really supposed to access internet for personal use here, but I'm past caring, and I've been missing my forum fixes recently, so I'm intending to have quick catch-ups as often as I can. Enjoy your boring days.... somehow. Maybe the delivery will arrive earlier than you expect *Sarah*, then you can escape for baking goods & magazines
clare*
Yesterday must have been the day for everyone to be bored I think. I was too. But I decided I needed to get rid of the bad mum badge Clare Taylor lent me,when I said I took Ben to school in my PJ's. I set to work in the kitchen. I baked some bread, the best I have ever made If I do say so myself . Made a batch of fresh pasta for tea and a carbonara sause to go with it. Then I scrubed the Eglu clean. 2 Loads of washing.Hoovered. Then at 11.30 I thought I better get dressed I know,I did still take Ben to school in my PJ's Then off to do my dinner lady job

The Dogmother
Cor Clare, 'Jesus wants you for a sunbeam'! Bloomin' 'eck! I'd love to have a day at home doing all that stuff. Went mad on Sunday when the electrican came to do work - had the electrics off for 3 hours, so couldn't do anything that involved electricity, was pouring with rain, so couldn't go out in the garden either! Cinnamon
It turned out OK in the end. I did a bit of surfing (on the internet!) Watched this weeks Nip/Tuck Then the delivery arrived at 11.30.....result! It is a pine settle, so I spent 2 hours waxing it,then went to Tesco, then it was time to collect Cleo from School. Then ,I got home to find my new blinds devlivered from John Lewis, when they were not even due for 2 more weeks In fact I didn't even have time for lunch ,which is never a bad thing this near to Christmas

Cate in NZ
Well, after my stressfull day yesterday, whilst the rest of you were bored it all turned out well. Surfed the forum at work (don't tell the boss ), got home and found out that my home PC is finally repaired, even if it's probably only a temporary fix, poor thing is on it's last legs and will need replacing soon. Eek, I just hope it lasts until after Christmas, not a spare penny for anything until then. I also finally made my sloe gin, lemon curd (from Kate/ Nigella's recipe- and it's delicious, thanks for passing that on Kate), and daughter and I even made fairy cakes together. A very satisfying evening- even if my windows are still grimy
Guest
I had a day waiting in for delivery etc. yesterday. I wasn't bored but a bit frustrated. I had a new oven, hob and dishwasher delivered (Thought we'd just go for it all in one go ). That was fine. The dishwasher slotted into its space OK and hubbie plumbed it in last night (got to bed at 12:15am ). The gas man fitted the oven, which took two hours, but wouldn't do the hob because some cupboards VERY slightly overhang the edge of the hob (perhaps 1cm!). So I'm left with a beautiful oven but no hob and to make it all worse the boiler wouldn't re-light so no heating and no hot water either. I bet Louise will be smiling! What goes around, comes around and I'm afraid I found her account of having to go outside to get water quite funny. As she was actually living through the nightmare, she wasn't so amused So have a good laugh on me Louise!
