Hi and welcome to the forum.

There are lots of lovely people on here full of excellent advice.

Personally, I would go for plastic.

I have a wooden rabbit hutch and it is far more difficult to get really clean compared to my cube.

I just wash the cube parts in hot soapy water and leave them to dry, in the winter I lean them against the radiator and they dry in no time.

I hope this helps :D

Hi Bren200 I replied to you in the welcome section.

I love my (purple eglu) I also have a (cube purple) which most people love but I am in the minority and prefer the (purple eglu) . It really depends how many chooks you are going to get.

Second hand eglus and cubes are good as they do not seem to age my 5 year old (purple eglu) is as good as new.

Hi and welcome! :D

My advice from experience would be get plastic!!!! I started keeping chickens over 18 months ago and had a new wooden coop with run. It was cheap, but in the end it was a waste of money. It warped in the wet, was difficult to keep clean and once it got red mite it was doomed to the rubbish tip!!!

I have a cube and extended run which I love!!! The price was a bit eye watering!!! I was trundelling mine around the garden, but with all the wet had to site it and filled the run with wood chip, which has been brilliant. It is easy to clean and collecting the eggs is a joy! Recently, I also bought a second hand classic, it to is brill!! Really easy to use and clean. I paid £245 and it had a few extras too!! The only thing to mention is the classic is ground level and so lots of bending down which you don't have with the cube.

Whatever you decide the omlet products do what they say on the tin and also hold the re-sale vaiue. :D View it as an investment. The important thing to decide is how many chickens and where/ on what will you have them.

Pics when you're able and keep us informed!!:D
