I too finished the book a couple of hours ago and could only now venture into this thread after not really having as much time to read as I wanted - damned water shortage!!

 

I cried (I'm not ashamed) at Hedwig, Dobby and the bit he faces death too.

 

A great book, but going to do as most will and sit and read all of them in a row, back to back.....just as soon as I've read some lovely books I got off Ebay....and if I'm not spending hours on the new laptop next week.....and and working til late Roll on the 24th!!

 

I reckon there'll be a "filler" to make us wonder and give JKR something to do.

My mum rang me up this morning and the first thing she said was

 

"Dobby's dead"

 

then it was quickly followed by "dont tell me what else is going to happen, I need to read it"

 

what ever happened to normal "Hello daughter, how are you" sort of conversations?????

I had a good weep at those bits as well, especially when the ghosts of his parents came back as he prepared to face Voldamort.

 

Was kind of looking forward to an Empire Strikes Back moment, with Snape confessing, "Harry, I am your father", but the way she showed how Snape was on the right side was excellent.

 

And I'm delighted to see that Ron and Hermione eventually got together and had lovely ginger children!

TBH I thought the 19 years later chapter at the end was very naff, but hey ho. At least the rest of the book was good and it gave me something to read on the way to Yorkshire last weekend!
