Luvachicken
Oooooooo sometimes I wonder !!!!!!! For the last 8 times, including today, we have been trying to go in a Virgin hot air balloon, and each time because of varying weather condtions it has been cancelled. That is fair enough, but for afternoon flights, you have to phone at 2pm to see if the flight is on or not, so my daughter -whose flight it is - phoned up and heard the message for this mornings flight. She kept phoning hoping the message would be updated and each time it said this mornings flight was cancelled. She phoned so many times she had to assume it was on and leave East Grinstead to catch the train to Guildford where we would meet her. We carried on phoning for her - there was even an emergency number we phoned but that just went to Tesco mobile. In the end, we phoned another Virgin number and the lady said the message should have said that the morning and afternoon flight were cancelled - but of course it didn't. She also said we should have phoned the other number sooner. IF they'd have left the correct message we wouldn't have needed to and nothing even said in the first place about phoning any other numbers. So now, my daughter has wasted an afternoon off, on a train going nowhere and wasted her ticket money. Grrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! majuka
You have my sympathies! We have also had a number of flights cancelled - we also have tickets through Virgin. I understand totally that flights can't go ahead in bad weather but I do wonder if there could be a more user friendly way? We are quite lucky that my husband has changed jobs recently to a more local one as he previously had to book half a days holiday for every flight as he would not be able to get there in time otherwise. Months ago we booked a flight around his birthday (end of March). For a couple of weeks they were forecasting snow at the time of the flight so we knew that we would not be going but you have to ring up at the last minute just to check anyway. I don't see why they didn't just cancel the flights earlier and give us some more dates to chose from. Hope you get your flight soon
Luvachicken
Good news for my daughter. Virgin gave her her train ticket money back and said it was their mistake about the message It does pay to complain, shame about her wasted afternoon off though.
