I've not been here for a while, but I had a very close encounter with a young vixen on Sunday. 2pm I let my chicks out into the garden stepped just inside the back door to get my egg collection basket and there she was!!!! Just a few feet away from the girls, I have a banty cross cockeral called Speedy and he went nuts, the Thomas my tom cat arrived and they both chased her out of the garden WELL DONE BOYS. I know I dont have to tell you guys but just goes to show, the fox will be about any time of day

I had to take Thomas to the vet, I hadnt noticed an injury on his head, battle scar from his efforts. He needed antibotic injection and one of those horrid funnel collars poor chap was proper miserable

Thomas is doing OK, much happier without his collar, Ive noticed he is also missing his left lower canine tooth - poor chap, he is due back at the vet tomorrow
