You basically get dropped randomly anywhere in the world in Google maps and have to try to work out where you are. It would be fun to do with kids at school/home. Quite proud of my latest attempt! Might have had better scores if I did My geography knowledge isn't brilliant and I am quite pleased most of my guesses are in the right country. It took me a few goes to work out you could us the arrows to move around though That said, I have done quite well using a combination of guess work and detective work - got quite a few to within a few hundred yards Some way out though! Has anyone else enjoyed seeing the places they have been dropped in? I've come off a ferry onto a mud road in Alaska, been dropped in a war museum in Brazil, looked out from a mountain viewpoint in Hawaii and also been to quite a few obscure Russian villages! I'm amazed how quickly you can (usually!) work out which continent you're in. Sometimes it's the weather, the vegetation or just the road signs or markings. The hard ones are when you land up in the middle of nowhere so there are no buildings/signs/any clues . Only had one UK one so far - in Wales! Nikipins Posted May 12, 2013 Share Posted May 12, 2013 I got one spot on, but then I cheated there was a road sign I could read for a small town in Scotland and with the help of google earth open in a second window I could pin point the exact spot the pictures were taken.
