Chicken boarders

Gertie's leg is now much better but the vet has said we mustn't use her eggs for six weeks - how do other people manage that, currently she is separate from the others and hasn't laid but after her check up I am hoping she can be reintegrated, I can't keep her in a dog cage for six weeks.

How have others managed this?

Hi if you can tell what egg she lays fine if not im afraid you will have to chuck them all away what antibiotics was she on as ive only ever been told 28 days from last dose and ive eaten mine after 3 weeks was it baytril? leanne

She is on Noroclav 250 ml once a day.

I can't tell her eggs from the others so I guess I am going to have to discard all the eggs, it seems such a waste.

This might be a rubbish idea but can you put food colouring on her vent so it marks her eggshells a bit?

Oh dear it sounds like you will have to chuck them all away I know what you mean I ended up chucking about 100 eggs when one of my girls was on antibiotics makes you sick leanne

Or separate them until they've laid each day

That seems long, mine only say 7 days from final dose!
