Solitary chicken - need advice

I had a phone call from my mum today to let me know that the chicken of hers (Tufty Anna) that had gone missing has been located in a hedge sat on a lovely nest of eggs They have decided to let nature take its course and see what happens, they think she has been on the nest for one week so it should only be 2 weeks to go

 

Anyway as the Daddy is my lovely Julian I think I will be a Chicken Granny

 

So watch this space how exciting and if all goes to plan I will be asking loads of questions as to what steps we need to take for Tufty Anna and her babies

 

Will also try and find a pic of Tufty as we would like to try and identify her breed

One of my friends Orpingtons disappeared and reappeared with a little group of chicks earlier in the year.

Julian the daddy is from what I understand a Gold Laced Orpington, we are unsure as to what Tufty is only mum recalls being told she is a rare breed either way I think they will be beautiful babies

 

 

I shall try to get a better pic of her but I expect that will be after the big event

Had a call mum there is one chick Tufty is still sat on the eggs but we have been offered an incubator just in case she gets of the nest

 

Mum is prepping a 'maternity unit'
