Chucky Mama
I want to get an iphone to use purely for taking photos to be send via wi fi. Can I do this without having any form of contract and do I need a sim? I want to get some videos taken and uploaded via wi fi and need a iphone sized gadget to do it. I can pick one up for £150 or so which seems cheaper that cameras that take similar quality photos.
chuckmum6
I can't see why not, it would be similar to an iPad with wifi, the sim is only needed for phoning, everything non phone related should work if connected to your wifi.
The Dogmother
Why not get an ipod - you can do that with one of those.
Chucky Mama
Thanks, YS tells me that an ipod unless it is 5th generation it will not have a flash. iphone 4s are cheaper that ipods!
kissinuk
Seems a bit of a waste of an iPhone if you only use it for photos. I agree with the iPod Touch comment, flashes on phones are very weak anyway. presume the 4s is 2nd hand as a new one will cost over £400. Personally I'd go for a small camera, some of the new compact super zooms are superb and many have wifi built in.
gongladosh
Alternatively, get a normal camera with an SD card slot, put in an 'Eye-Fi' SD card (basically an SD card + WIFI), set it up to send to your smartphone, take a photo and there you go!
